jeff immelt uber

It shouldn't be any surprise to anyone that I'm no fan of Uber, I think they are a pretty badly run company with some rather awful ethical and moral values. They are not a good corporate citizen and really don't treat anyone well, not their drivers, not their customers, and certainly not their employees. Yet, as much as I don't like them, I think they really dodged a bullet with this one:…/jeff-immelt-pulls-running-uber-… and I'm really glad they did. Reality is we need Uber to succeed because they are an important innovator in our economy and have done quite a bit to upend existing business that was well... not good for the consumer. The path that Uber is on with autonomous driving, delivery services, and providing transportation on demand to the masses is a very real need. But... Jeff Immelt would have destroyed the company, putting him anywhere near Uber would have been the equivalent of a death row sentence, slow, painful wait until the inevitable happened... death. Considering what he did for General Electric, namely, no growth, no direction, complete loss of technological leadership, loss of what GE was... I don't like Uber but I don't like them that much to wish Jeff Immelt upon them.

Uber Technologies Inc. is moving closer to picking a new chief executive officer, who will fill the seat left vacant for more than two months since the abrupt ouster of co-founder Travis Kalanick.
